Meet Jean Anning who is part of a community of people leading a revival in making and growing from home and building a community who are investing time into creation and circularity. From spinning and weaving wool, ginning cotton, growing and sharing.
s.fitzgerald and I spent an afternoon with Jean in her Bayswater home as she talked about finding purpose and connection. Walking into jean’s home is like taking a step back in time, where she hand dyes and weaves her own wool and gins cotton grown on her front verge. Jean speaks fondly of what started as 8 planted cotton seeds in one verge, produced many cotton seeds that she has spread across the state to others who also now grow and ginned their own cotton yield to make their own sustainable textiles.

Thankyou for your time and wisdom Jean. We can learn so much from those around us and I won’t forget our shoot anytime soon.
