As you do.

Newborns have a way of humbling everyone in the room within the first few days. All that softness and stillness, and then absolute chaos the second the nappy comes off. It's part of the deal. Nobody warns you and everyone laughs about it later.

What they'll actually remember though: the way she gripped their fingers. The tiny sounds. The way she settled the second she was against their chest.

Evelyn was three years old. Eloise was a newborn. And look at these images.
Here's what actually happens in a session: kids do kid things. Babies do baby things. I work around all of it. The moments between the posed bits are usually where the best images live anyway.

You don't need everyone to behave. You just need to show up.

Also known as Mildred when she’s being formal, suspicious, or has just done something deeply questionable on the floor.⁠

She’s a three year old golden retriever who joined our family last week, and she’s quickly figuring out where she fits. There have been lots of tail wags, a few “new dog, new house” accidents, and plenty of long walks round our neighbourhood.⁠

She’s sweet, soft and already very loved.⁠
⁠
So if you see a new golden face popping up in my stories, this is her. Millie. Our newest girl. Currently accepting pats, belly rubs, and possibly a detailed map to the appropriate toileting area.⁠

Big sister needed her own session. Obviously.
While baby was feeding, Evelyn and I decided Elsa needed photographs too. And honestly? She wasn't wrong.
This is your reminder that stuffie photoshoots are completely valid and I will not be taking questions.

She was the centre of attention the entire session.

Not in a loud way. In a quiet, watching-everything, already-completely-in-love-with-her-brother way. The way she leaned over him. The way she looked at him like she was already figuring out how to look after him. Three years old and already so sure of her place in his life.

That's what I mean when I say these sessions are about more than the baby. You come in thinking you're photographing a newborn and you walk away with images of your daughter becoming a big sister, your husband becoming a boy dad, your family becoming something new.

Kye has no idea yet. But one day he'll look at these photos and understand exactly how much he was loved from the very first week.
