That look. Every time.

Big brother had a lot of energy and exactly zero interest in sitting still, which is exactly right for a toddler who just became a big brother. He'll settle into it. He's already smitten, you can tell.

Arlo has been waiting for this. Pretty sure she was BORN to be a big sister!
She walked in, spotted her baby sister in that little iron bed, and just... knew exactly what to do. Gentle hands, proud eyes, that almost-smile she was trying so hard to hold together. Being a big sister is a serious job.

This is what I mean when I say newborn sessions aren't really all about the baby. They're about the before and after. The family that existed, and the one that's quietly becoming something new.

Little Lia, and the big brother 🤎

One thing I'm always mindful of during a newborn session is the sibling. Because let's be honest. A new baby is a big deal for a toddler. Their whole world has shifted, and now there's a stranger with a camera asking them to sit still. Not exactly their idea of a great morning.

So I make it my job to keep them involved. That might look like letting them gently place a hand on baby, giving them a small "job" to do, or just letting them roam freely while I work around them, capturing whatever naturally unfolds. Some of my favourite sibling shots come from the moments I didn't orchestrate.

The goal is that every person who walked into the studio that day feels seen in their gallery. Not just the baby.

And big brother here? He delivered. That last slide is proof. 🤎

I replayed that more times than I'd like to admit. 🤎
Behind every image like this one is a lot of direction, a little negotiating, and someone's beloved stuffed bunny making a surprise appearance. My daughter caught it all on camera. The chaos before the calm, the moment it all comes together.
Golden hour. Three kids. One very full heart.

One of the things I hear before a newborn session?
"I'm worried about how I'm going to look in the photos."
And I get it. You're sleep-deprived, you're still finding your feet, and someone is pointing a camera at your face.

Here's what I want you to know: my job isn't just to photograph your baby. It's to guide you into poses that feel natural, light you beautifully, and edit your images so you look like you, just the well-rested version.

You don't need to do anything except show up and love on your baby. I'll handle the rest. 🤎
