Spent the day out playing in the storm, down at Sugarloaf Rock. Managed to stay out for a couple of Hours and even managed to get a couple of shots to make it all worthwhile.

I hope you all managed to stay dry and warm (unlike a certain du***ss photographer) and that you enjoy this image. I'll filter through the rest and throw them up here.

As always feel free to share the s**t out of this.

Wow, it's been a lonmg time since I've posted anything here.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to participate in a bird photography workshop with Georgina Steytler.

This is my favourite shot of the day, even if it is a "near miss".

In the tradition of full exposure I have to admit tha I did use the Generativer Expand function in Photoshop to fill in the missing portion of the wing, which is why it doean't look quite right (the tips of the feathers are not actually dark). Oh well, it's still a cracker of a photo and it just means I have to go back out to try to replicate this shot.

Good morning all. As you all know I’m a dive master, a certified scuba tragic as well as a keen photographer (both above and below the water). I’m currently the President of the Photographic Group of Bunbury and I’ve developed my own “Introduction to Underwater Photography” workshop, that I’m planning to deliver in the Bunbury area, on the weekend of 18-19 October 2025 and then at various times over the upcoming dive season.

This course is aimed at photographers who are looking to further develop their photographic skills, both above and below the water, with the intent taking better underwater photographs. Whilst this course is unlikely to instantly turn you into a professional underwater photographer like Phillipe Cousteau or Brooke Pyke, it will get you started on your journey.

The course will be delivered in small groups (max. 6 people) and will consist of an afternoon of theory followed by 2 shore dives the following morning to put your learnings into practice.

The theory will begin with some photography basics including photographic and underwater photography equipment (cameras, lenses, housings etc), the exposure triangle of Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO, followed by depth of field, focussing, light metering, different shooting modes and more.

After this we’ll talk about preparing to take photos underwater and what you need to consider before you enter the water, what you need to be aware of whilst entering and after you’re in the water and finally when you’re underwater.

I’ll be including some setting information that can be used as a starting point for various situations and finally some of the common mistakes made by underwater photographers and how we can avoid or fix them.

The cost will be $199.00 per person, but as an introductory special I’m offering this for $149.00 to the first 6 people.

To participate you will need to be an appropriately qualified and skilled diver, have your own underwater camera and be willing to have fun.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in please drop an email to [email protected]

and I will forward you through all the details.

Even though last night was a school night I had the oportuunity to head out and "attempt" to shoot some bioluminescent "ghost" fungi.

It is a VERY steep learning curve, but I managed to get a couple the sort of work. The remainder of my attempts were much less impressive.

I hope you all enjoy these and feel free to share the s**t ouut of them.

Last night we had a really nice lightning show over BunVegas and, well what is a photographer supposed to do? That's right. Get out and start photographering!

Here are a couple of crackers (see wht i did there) that were taken from the veranda at Chateau Trinity. Who says you need to head out to the middle of nowhere to get good lightning shots.

I'm very proud of these shots. They are far and away the best lightning shots I've captured.

Wow, 2 posts in 1 day. What's going on in the world???

Anyway I went out to Pile Road in Dardanup this evening chasing Aurora. Spent a couple of hours out there but only got a couple of worthwhile ones. These are the best of them.

I Hope you enjoy them and as always feel free to share the s**t out of them.
