I’m going to be a little cliché here: they say a photo tells a thousand words, and this one certainly does.

Meet Ian Bernadt, an avid art collector right here in Western Australia. It was an absolute delight to meet him, photograph him, and quite simply, connect with him.

When I walked into his space, I was utterly astonished by the sheer volume of art he has everywhere. Sculptures, oil paintings, pastels—he collects everything. Just when I thought, wow, this is a lot, he let slip that he has a entire shipping container completely full in storage, too!

But my absolute favorite part about shooting these creative commissions is uncovering the stories behind the art. The ‘reason why.’

Take the yellow Crocs he’s wearing, which perfectly match the vibrant yellow painting in his checkered dining room. Why those? Because they remind him of his late wife. 💔

It’s those tiny, deeply personal details that hold all the emotion.

Jackass season 20... here we come.

I know it’s Friday afternoon and we are all winding down for the long weekend, but the magic of this newborn session was just too beautiful not to share. ✨

Every family I photograph has a story that is entirely unique. This family’s story deeply fueled my passion to create something they fell in love with from the very first moment they saw their finished images.

We are officially the most photographed generation in history, yet we are at risk of leaving behind absolutely no physical trace of our lives.

And look, I get it. Life feels like a fast-moving train right now, and the mental load is real.

We all tell ourselves, “I’ll get around to ordering those prints one day.” But let’s be honest that “one day” rarely comes.

Instead, those tiny newborn details and wild toddler years stay completely trapped behind a glass screen.

But your kids don’t care about data bytes or cloud storage links.

They want to sit on the couch with you, pull a heavy album onto their laps, and trace their fingers over the pages.

They want to see the real, messy, beautiful home where they were raised.

When you hear another “I’ll get around to printing those one day” the “one day” that never comes because your mental load is already overflowing. 🕊️

Let’s be real for a second. This mum is currently in the thick of it. She’s navigating life with a colicky newborn (if you’ve been there, you know those sleepless nights hit differently) while chasing two older boys.

She knew two things for certain:

1. These early days are disappearing at lightning speed.

2. If she had to DIY an album, it was never going to happen.

She needed to tick the boxes that actually mattered for her sanity:

✨ An in-home session because she’s recovering from her third C-section.
✨ A space where her boys could just be boys—chilled, comfy, and in their own element.

Instead of telling you how “cute” this session was, I have to tell you the story of how it actually went down. 🕊️

It started with a 8:30 AM Saturday morning panic. Gear in hand, I’m knocking on a silent door—only to realize I’m at the wrong house. 🤦‍♀️ Cue the frantic 5-minute dash to the correct address.

When I finally arrived, Dad was skeptical. “I’m not sure how the boys will go,” he warned. “One is shy, the other is loud, and they won’t listen.”

I just smiled. “Let’s see how we go.”

The 4-year-old: We chatted about toys. Within 5 minutes, he was curiosity personified, I got the shots, and he went back to play.

The 7-year-old: I gave him space to warm up. Soon, he was holding his new baby brother for the camera.

The Family: We moved to the big bed. Dad predicted chaos, but after a few strategic jumps and some guided fun, we were done in 10 minutes flat.

As I left the room, I heard Dad whisper to his wife: “Did that seriously just happen?”

That is the power of 18 years behind the lens.

It’s about more than camera settings—it’s about navigating personalities and turning “chaos” into calm. After meeting 2,500+ little humans, I know how to handle the situations that leave others feeling challenged.

1️⃣ Let go and let me guide you. I’ve met more than 2,500 little humans. I promise yours aren’t “too much.” I don’t need them to sit still; I just need you to trust me to find the quiet moments in the middle of the energy.
2️⃣ Use my brain. Don’t guess what looks good. Read my outfit guide, jump on a Zoom with me to flip through your wardrobe, or message me photos of your options. When the styling is sorted before the day, the stress disappears.
3️⃣ Leave the world in the car. Specifically, your phones. Give yourselves permission to unplug for 60 minutes. No notifications—just real, honest connection. I’ll handle the “capturing,” you just handle the cuddles.
