Not to be missed. The final town hall event is online so you don't even need to leave home to hear experts speak on the impact that Alcoa's expansion will have on our environment and our communities. Guidance on how to have your say and send in a submission will also be covered.

Western Australia is the only place on earth with Jarrah Forrest.

To date, Alcoa mining has bulldozed around 28,000 hectares of Jarrah Forrest. Now under their new expansion they want to bulldoze another 11,500 hectares in the next 15 years.
It doesn’t stop there, they are also conducting exploration drilling in areas of Mundaring and Kalamunda.

The Carnaby black cockatoo live in these forests and are endangered due to mining. The mainland quokka is also at threat along with many other of our native wildlife.

The expansion area includes areas of Holeyoakes in Dwellingup Forrest 5,571 hectares cleared , Myara North (near Jarrahsale) 10,705 hectares cleared and O’Neil. All of which our Jarrah Forrest grow.

Alcoa builds their mines close to our drinking catchment areas. They use up to 45-50 billion litres of water a year for there mining projects.

No amount of rehabilitation can get our forests to the same healthy state it was prior to mining.

For the first time in 60 years the EPA are giving us the opportunity to have our say.

Only 6 days left to add your name to the public submission here 👇
