At midnight tonight a small group of will be taking part in the 24 Hour Project - myself included. Please take a moment to have a look at the 24HourProject website, donate if you are able and and follow our images over the next 24 hours...this is an exciting worldwide event and 'little old Perth' is a part of it.
.westerman .greenland Special THANKS to the Alex Hotel for providing a comfortable base over the 24 hours.

Women all over the world live in conditions of inequality. The United Nations has reported that 70% of women worldwide have suffered some type of violence. The World Economic Forum pointed out in its latest report that at the present rate, another 202 years are needed to close the economic gender gap currently present in the world.

By donating you can help empower and expand women's programs in Iran, Mexico, Peru, and Uganda. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated by the women who benefit from these programs.

These are programs the 24HourProject have personally reviewed and have first-hand experiences with. They have their standards of financial integrity and demonstrated a very clear charitable impact in their work for women.

In Iran, Atena NGO provides a safe house for female victims of domestic abuse which includes education programs for the survivors they are serving.

In Mexico, GES Mujer provides free psychological care for female victims of violence and operates programs that involve young women in decision-making positions within their communities.

In Peru, Sacred Valley Health provides quality health care services by empowering indigenous women in the under-served rural communities of Peru.

In Uganda, She Has Hope provides empowerment programs for survivors of human trafficking at their rehabilitation home, while also operating several trafficking prevention programs for at-risk girls in rural areas.

I had a fantastic day yesterday, shooting in the City of Perth for a very good cause.

Huge thanks to Steve Scalone and Craig Wetjen for organising such a wonderful and fun event and inspiring everyone to produce beautiful artworks. BIG thanks also to Ben, Team Digital, Des Birt, North Metropolitan TAFE and Camera Electronic.

The work of so many talented photographers culminated into a varied and beautifully presented exhibition.
