Watch me boss 38 people around... and no, I’m not joking! 😘

After 26 years of wedding photography, coordinating big groups is basically second nature to me, and it came in seriously handy for this one! This is officially the largest family portrait I’ve ever photographed (wedding groups aside). Four generations came together to celebrate Nonna Nina’s 95th birthday.

I put together a proper time plan before the day so nobody would be standing around waiting for two hours while we got through a huge list. And thanks to this family’s cooperation and a bit of planning on my end, we smashed through the entire shoot in an hour and forty minutes! I created a comprehensive shot list beforehand, and every single combination was approved by the family and ready to go before we even started 💪

And those outfits… can we just talk about them for a second, because every single person turned up looking cohesive, coordinated and absolutely stunning as a group. This is exactly why I send my clients a ‘what to wear’ guide before their session. Massive credit to this beautiful family for communicating so well with each other and for making Nonna Nina feel so loved on her 95th.

I also threw them a curveball with an idea they hadn’t even considered for Nonna’s wall… and they went for it without hesitation. Can’t wait to show you what they chose once it’s ready!

My heart broke a little yesterday…

For those on my mailing list, you might remember reading that my sister moved to Perth in March, and of course, being as dog obsessed as I am, bringing her dog Stella, was non negotiable.

Pancake and Stella became besties and have absolutely loved being able to see each other regularly for walks and play dates and generally hanging out. But…. My sister decided Perth wasn’t for her after all, so back she went, and of course took Stella with her 😭

So I’ve been feeling double the sadness this week, not just for my sister moving back, but because I had no way to tell Pancake that she was never going to see Stella again 🥺

Of course in true ‘live in the moment’ dog style, she’s been totally fine while I’m over here feeling sorry for myself 😅

We made so many beautiful memories while they were here, and I’m so grateful for that. We made the most of their time together with one last photoshoot at my studio. One of the photos is going to be my new sample display 🥰

Can’t wait to show you soon. We’ll miss you Stella, but I’m glad it’s not because you’re forever gone ❤️

They might be living out of home with their own lives and partners, but they’re still your baby 🥰

I think a lot of people assume that family photos are something you do while you have little ones. But your kids never stop being your kids. They just get taller and start bringing someone home for Christmas.

The last lot of family photos Joanne and Tony had on the wall, was of their kids when they were little. It felt like an update was well overdue. So they made it happen.

If your kids are grown, you haven’t missed your window.

Meet Bodhi and Benni 😍 Two Australian Shepherds with two very different personalities.

Bodhi… Absolutely LOVED the bubbles and had the time of his life! ✨
Benni? He was a HARD no 🫧😂

Their owners Bryanne and Kristen have always known their boys are special. Funny, gorgeous, and personality-packed chaos! Two peas in a pod, until they’re not 😂 The problem was… every time Mum tries to capture photos at home, they just sit and stare blankly at her phone. No personality. No life. Just two very handsome boys doing not much but looking handsome.

So that’s exactly why they came to me, and that’s exactly what we fixed today 😘

BTS footage incoming! The finished photos are going to be something else. Can’t wait to share some with you soon 🐾
