We finally move on to day 2 of Thirlmere Festival of Steam. My first post of Day 2 includes all the photos I took over the day, which isn’t as many as day one unfortunately. More work, less play.

To round out day 1 of the 2023 Thirlmere Festival of Steam, 3801 and R766 double head the return Picton service in a rare union showcasing the peak of steam for both the NSWGR and VR railway systems. Due to the different gauge that R766 ran on, at one point it would have been very unlikely for this union to happen. However it did look bloody spectacular
