I had the opportunity to meet up with another photographer for a family session and it was such a valuable experience.

We chatted through everything as we went — lighting, prompting, positioning, working with kids and finding those genuine moments in between the chaos. Watching someone else’s approach in real time was incredibly inspiring and reminded me how much there always is to learn in this industry.

The sweetest little moments were captured during this session, and I left feeling so motivated, creatively refreshed and excited to keep growing behind the camera.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grandmothers, step mums, mums-to-be and the women who love like a mum 💛

Today is about celebrating the hugs, the chaos, the sacrifices, the late nights, the endless love, and all the little moments that often go unseen.

As a photographer, one of the most special things I get to do is freeze tiny moments in time — the cuddles, the laughter, the way your children look at you when they think no one’s watching. The moments that become memories far too quickly.

I hope today you feel appreciated, celebrated, and loved — not just for what you do, but for who you are.

ANZAC Day has always meant something deeper to me, shaped by my time as a cadet and the understanding it gave me of service and commitment.

This year carries a different feeling. For the first time, my children aren’t all in the same place on this day, and the familiar cadet chapter has quietly closed for my boys — life has taken them further, in ways that make you pause and take it all in.

Photography has taught me to notice what isn’t always said — the distance, the pride, the strength, the connection that holds even when people aren’t side by side. That feels especially real today.

While today honours the stories and sacrifices that came before us, it’s hard not to think about those finding their own path now, and the families who stand behind them.

Routine doesn’t have to be boring. This week’s challenge was to document the “usual” using creative angles and lighting.
From the glow of the screen during late-night editing sessions to that essential first cup of morning coffee, I’ve been practicing how to use POV shots to tell a story. It’s all about slowing down to notice the small details—like the textures of a keyboard or the steam on a benchtop—that we usually walk right past.

I had a crazy idea for a paint fight session… and these two actually said yes 😅🎨

A little hesitant to start, but that didn’t last long — so many giggles, paint flying everywhere, and zero regrets by the end.
