Businesses in Regional SA deserve good quality brand photos just as much as city businesses 👏🏻

This morning I saw a reel that had gone absolutely nuts - it was someone just laying on a couch saying “I’m tired of making content, just book your appointments”.

I immediately wanted to share it because SAME! And it obviously struck a nerve with others because it’s been shared thousands of times.

But it got me wondering how much of the engagement on that reel were actually people that were going to book an appointment with THAT business.

Because while that particular piece of content resonated with people (probably other business owners) enough to go viral online, if that business relied solely on people within their local region booking physical, face to face appointments, then having thousands of people view it from all over the world may not have been all that successful at filling their calendar.

This is why I’m so passionate about taking a unique and strategic approach for each of my brand photography clients. Stellar Skin is a great example - before our brand shoot, the business was using stock images to show off skincare on young models with tight skin. When we chatted it through, we realised that this could actually be off-putting to the real, every day, older women that the business was trying to serve. So we added in some photos that were more on brand.

Every single business has a unique message, a unique product or service, and a unique person that they’re trying to share those with. My job as a Strategic Brand Photographer is to help you work out what those are, and then create the imagery for you to achieve your goals.

Firstly, if you’re new here, welcome! I’m Claire, a Strategic Brand Photographer located in the Southern Flinders Ranges of South Australia.

Lately I’ve been doing some work behind the scenes on my business structure and offers, and after a couple of questions about whether I’m including video and content creation (because according to all marketing sources, these are needed in 2026), I felt like I needed to do an experiment to test if photos could still be as powerful as videos.

So here we go, 6 weeks of posting Monday to Friday, photos, text and music only.

Why am I doing this? Because I want to prove to myself (and you) that we don’t need to make life harder by adding video to the marketing mix.

That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with video, if you enjoy doing it and have the time for it.

But when you’re already busy enough in life and business and you want to keep growing, adding hours of video content creation and editing to an already hectic schedule is not something that you should HAVE to do just because someone somewhere said that it’s necessary.

I’m nervous and excited to see how this goes.. it feels like the perfect experiment to complete while I’m restructuring and getting these new brand photography offers ready for regional businesses who want to make their marketing easier.

Do you have brand photos for your business, or just photos? 🤔

Let me explain..

Everything that you do in your marketing sends a message to your ideal client - captions, stories, website copy, advertising. When you hit the nail on the head, it’s like magic. The right people find you and business feels easier.

Photos are a huge opportunity to send the RIGHT message to your audience. The right visuals will do some of the heavy lifting for you, making your marketing so much easier.

Let’s look at this example - these are two photos of the same business, taken about 2 years apart.

Is the first one a bad photo? No, not at all.

But does it suit the business NOW? Absolutely not.

Because in the time since these photos were taken, the business has evolved, grown and refined… it’s entered into a new era. 💪

And now, the first photo we took is just a photo. It’s no longer a brand photo, because it no longer works for the brand.
