This baby galah fell out of our ancient date palm yesterday and had to be sent off to the wildlife carer! The preferred nesting sites are apparently hollow trees of which there are few and far between.

The Cape Northumberland lighthouse was built in 1882 after the original lighthouse was demolished, due to it being undermined by the cliff edge too close to the sea.

We found this discarded pupae shell in the recently. I think, after googling 🤣, that it may be from a ‘Rain moth’ Trictena Atripalpis? Pretty cool find! Good food source for owls and bats apparently!
