If I’ve learnt anything in my 15 years of shooting, it’s that I definitely look back on some older images and wonder why on earth I edited them the way I did. Some feel heavy and dated, on trend at the time but not timeless.
I’m very much in an era of cleaner, rich, true and timeless edits. For me the magic happens when I shoot and I aim to get the light, white balance and composition nailed as much as possible in camera. This helps enormously when it comes to editing and for me, editing is elevating and enhancing what I’ve already created. Not dramatically changing the image. With the rise in AI and being able to doctor anything on our screen with one click, I’m leaning more deeply into a true image more than ever. A preset can never fix a bad image but it can absolutely enhance a good one in the very best of ways.
Meadow presets are still my go to. Clean, timeless, creamy skin tones, a hint of nostalgia with a nod to film tones. If you’re after an amazing all rounder, Meadow might just be for you.
