I had a great time teaching my to over 38 keen year 7 kids at bayview college this morning. They were all able to listen and follow my instructions 🥳🤗. We all created a paynes grey simple version of nuns beach that oozed with light and tones. Pretty much all paintings produced were decent examples of clean washes using good simple techniques like wet on wet, gravity and charging. Well done🤩

Fantastic quick watercolour workshop yesterday at this years kindly supported by Port Fairy Community House. We learned materials and tools, paint and washes using a couple of techniques. For the 14 enthusiast women I chose for them to paint the port fairy lighthouse in paynes grey. I get my students to work in monotone at it helps to teach about tonal values and the use of light in your painting. Although composition may have varied on the pieces the idea was to learn the value of clean smooth washes and to paint shapes to create the impression of light. Students successful achieved clean washes using simple techniques on their first go! For future workshops I will be posting on my website and on socials or you can dm me.
