Hey y'know that we're all dealing with some kind of drama or another in our lives at any given time - but drama isn't always a bad thing.

Take this sky for instance - this dramatic sky last Sunday evening at Beachport was the kind of drama I don't mind. We were initially hoping for a nice sunset but when the sun sunk behind the clouds and the sunset was a fizzer, we got this magic instead.

Of course, there was absolutely no drama at all from Jack and Hayley, who were just a delight to work with. Even after running them up and down sandhills and telling them to 'go way over there where the grassy bits are sticking up', asking them to stand on rocks, walk in the water and 'just look natural', they did everything with a big smile (and I'm sure an eyeroll or two but, hey).

But how good is that sky?

Summer’s on the way and it won’t be long before we’re all enjoying the beach again. I photographed this stunning white stallion, Merlin and Tegan a while back. I wanted to create the impression of the horse rolling in to shore with the waves – the white caps of the waves are often referred to as ‘sea horses’

How’s the serenity? Even just looking at this scene evokes all the unique sounds and smells of the Aussie bush. The scent of the eucalyptus leaves wafting through the trees on a hot, still day, the sounds of the cicadas and grasshoppers chirruping and chirping, last year’s peeling bark revealing the smooth whiteness of the new trunks, the spiky leaves of the yakkas with the new season’s flowers spearing upwards forming the most unique shapes and contortions. Stunning… Well, it is until you nearly step on a snake

Something that’s been on my bucket list for a hundred years that I managed to cross off in 2018 before the world stopped turning. Antelope Canyon on the Navajo lands in the American south-west of Arizona was as amazing in real life as any of the images I’d ever seen. On a special photo tour the Navajo guides walked us through this amazing slot canyon, known in Navajo as Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'. Believe me, you wouldn’t want to be wandering through when a flood comes through. The walls have been worn smooth by centuries of flood water rushing through the narrow passages, forming the most amazing contours and colours from the sandstone walls. An experience I’ll never forget

This adorable little scruff is called Brody, just chillin’ on the lounge. This was taken way back in the olden days when we were allowed to travel (remember that) during a visit with friends in Georgia in the deep south United States
