Repeating arches, old stone and one small moment in between.

I loved how the lines seemed to keep pulling deeper into the arcade, with the architecture doing almost all the work. Including a person in the frame gave me the sense of scale I was looking for, while still letting those beautiful repeating arches remain the hero.

Jumping on the Eastern Rosella bandwagon… sorry, not sorry. 🌈🦜

But really, can you blame me?

When a bird turns up wearing basically every colour available, you take the photos. Lots of them. 📸

Eastern Rosellas have to be one of Australia’s most photogenic birds, and this one was kind enough to hang around and give me just about every angle.

Which shot is your favourite? I’m torn between the over-the-shoulder look and the straight-to-camera stare. 👀

Sometimes photos don’t get shared straight away.

I realised I hadn’t posted anything this week, so I went back through last year’s photos and found these from sunset at Lake Cargelligo.

I’d almost forgotten how still the evening was. The water barely moved, the sky slowly turned pink, and a small flock of Australian White Ibis (Bin Chickens) crossed the last light just before dusk.

A good reminder that some favourites are simply waiting to be rediscovered. 🌅

Three years ago, an early morning at Norah Head looked like this. 🌅

These were all taken on my iPhone—before the R5 and the long lenses—when the reflections, dramatic clouds and changing light were more than enough to keep me wandering around with my camera out.

It’s funny what you rediscover when you go back through the camera roll.

Something a little different—but apparently I still found a way to photograph birds. Or at least, where the birds used to be. 🐦

Looking up beneath Forgotten Songs in Sydney’s Angel Place, where empty cages hang between the buildings and the calls of birds once heard in central Sydney filter through the laneway.

A beautiful reminder that sometimes the most interesting view is directly above you.
