These images arenāt about perfection. They arenāt about perfect smiles, flawless makeup, staged moments or beautiful lighting. Theyāre about women in sport exactly as they are; Raw emotion, Intensity, Determination, Pain, Joy, Exhaustion & Passion.
Sometimes the light is harsh. Sometimes the moment is messy. Sometimes the image isnāt technically āperfectā ā and thatās the point. Sport isnāt polished, itās real. These photographs are about capturing the honesty of competition and the strength of women who give everything to the game, the moment and themselves. Because the most powerful images are rarely perfect, theyāre authentic.
The Annual Women in Sport Photo Action Awards represent a widespread collection of images of Women captured across many sports. Here are some of mine taken during the last six months.
