The photographer in the photos… finally 🤎
Getting updated photos with my own family is something I’ve quietly longed for, for such a long time. I’m so used to being the one behind the lens… capturing everyone else’s memories, their connection, their seasons. But I’ve always wanted that for us too.
Last year I finally took the leap and booked an amazing photographer from Melbourne, ready to just show up and be present in the moment with my people… but sickness meant we had to postpone and life kept moving.
Not everyone in my tribe feels confident in front of the camera — and if I’m honest, neither do I when I’m not the one in control. So when my husband suggested we try taking them ourselves with a tripod, I was very hesitant. It’s not easy trying to guide everyone while also being in the frame and hoping it all comes together.
On Sunday we ventured out to Stanley to test a new location ahead of my outdoor minis this weekend. Soft skies, wind in the grass, a timer counting down… and a whole lot of teamwork. With the help of my tripod, my husband and Willow stepping in as my little assistants, we somehow created a kind of magic I’ll cherish forever.
They’re not perfect. But they’re real. They’re us — right now, in this season. And that means everything.
What do you think? ✨🤎
