🐋 Whales in the bay at South West Rocks! 🌊

From above, you could see them rolling onto their backs, their white bellies appearing as they moved through the water.

They seemed relaxed and playful — surfacing, rolling and enjoying the bay. 🤍

Such an incredible sight to witness from the air. So majestic, and a beautiful reminder of the wildlife we get to experience right here at South West Rocks. 🐋🌊

🎨 Colour accuracy matters.

What you see on your screen can look very different from what my camera captured — and different again when it’s viewed on devices and when it is printed.

I calibrate my screen every 4 weeks to ensure the colours I’m working with are accurate and consistent. 📸💻

For a photographer, videographer and content creator, getting colour right is an important part of delivering professional, true-to-life imagery.
I deliver photos intended for print in a different color space than if they are intended to use on the web.

In loving memory of Kai 🌈💙 Some places become more than just a place.
They can become a reminder of a moment that changed everything 🕊️

A few months ago, I edited this video thinking of a very special young boy, whose life was tragically taken far too soon.

Kai’s story was unspeakably heartbreaking 😭
May his family always feel surrounded by love 🤍🤍🤍

Take a moment to remember and honour Kai.

A young life, gone far too soon, but a life that touched the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Water specifically has a calming association for a lot of people anyway, so ripples combine visual repetition with that existing psychological association.

Repetitive visual patterns (like ripples) can trigger a mild trance-like state. Your brain relaxes when it doesn’t have to process anything new or threatening, so it just settles into the rhythm.
