I would genuinely sell all my belongings and sleep on park bench before I sold my camera.
If you know me personally you know I’m absolutely serious.
That might sound corny but contrary to nonchalance culture I think it’s cool to care and that being passionate is what makes us human.
I hit a creative roadblock early 2025 that I’m still working my way through.
I’m proud of a lot of work I’ve produced since then, but my identity as a creator has lacked clarity in my mind for an incredibly long time, which is ironic considering I built a career helping others achieve what I’ve been struggling to find.
I felt like I had done what I have needed to do in the Sydney Nightlife Industry a long time ago, and I want to take this opportunity to state publicly on record that I am done with being perceived as nightclub photographer in Sydney.
I feel blessed to have made that my full time career at one point, I absolutely loved it and I’m not saying no to nightlife work, it’s just not the thing I want to be known for.
Will I shoot nightlife, - if the project aligns with my values but I don’t see much in Sydney that inspires me from a photography perspective anymore after a long string of questionable experiences to put it extremely lightly.
I love Sydney, it is my home and arguably the best city in the world, but it has a real ceiling if you want to excel in the music / nightlife space.
No business guru, forever a student - but as with any career pursuit, it is absolutely necessary to ensure the market and culture is on your side.
I live by the theory that you are one relationship from changing your life. That goes for friendships, romantic interests and business. People are portals to a completely new existences, I’m currently on a global quest to find my next portal.
All I want to do on this planet is make great art and connect with other people.
I want to make that public not for attention, not because vulnerability is a cool trend on Instagram, but to externalise my internal thoughts and formally recalibrate my creative goals not for anyone but myself.
