It’s been a while since I shared an update around so I wanted to change that!

The film is obviously in very early stages. I’m gathering people with a wide range of knowledge, experience and passion for the project and the momentum is building. There are times where it feels like you’re fighting a loosing battle. When you spend hours trekking through the Snowy Mountains and the only sign of Dingoes that you see are the ones hanging by their feet from a tree.

But I am trying to stay optimistic and uncover stories of hope and a sustainable outcome for all. This is an important story to tell and one that I am excited to share.

The next 12 months will involve a lot of travel all around Australia gathering as many peoples perspectives on this controversial animal as I possibly can. I’ll be sharing that journey along the way and I’m excited to take you all along for the ride. coming 2023.

This week I went a bit out of my comfort zone and captured a set of images I’d been thinking about for well over a year. Corroboree Frogs are one of the most distinctive frogs species in Australia but photographing them is never easy. A huge thank you to for making this image possible.

Seeing Wombats in the wild is always special. Unfortunately, mange is incredibly prevalent in Wombats and this was one of the few we spotted that hadn’t been effected.

Today I had a pretty special encounter.

It had been torrential rain all morning so I was catching up on some editing work. I saw a few fins break the surface of the water from the balcony so I tried to get changed as quickly as possible to get down for some photos. I threw my camera in my housing and grabbed my and sprinted to the beach.

I was already drenched before I got in the water but just started to frantically swim out to the open water. All I wanted was a photo of a fun on the surface of the water. I swam out and sat still for a minute but could no longer see anything. The rain was so bad it was hard to see anything. I was about to give up and head to shore when I could hear faint clicking underwater. I pressed record on my camera just to be safe; completely neglecting my settings (as you’ll see).

One curious dolphin decided to come see what I was doing in the middle of the bay in a thunderstorm. I managed to record the second time it came around to see me. After its third loop, it went and caught up with the rest of the pod. Although our intersection lasted less than a minute, it was an experience I will always remember.

Tau and Tabby were two incredible animals I was lucky enough to work with and photograph. They were so affectionate towards another like an old married couple. They were well into their life when I was at the sanctuary and they have sadly since passed. But I am so thankful for the brief but moving time I spent with these two.

I’ve been backing up all of my photos and videos from the last 2 years and I’m currently sitting at about 10TB. There are so many amazing memories hidden within those files that I look forward to sharing a bit more context and the stories behind them.

This is my favourite kind of lunch break. I’ve spent this week staring at my computer editing a music video and needed some time off in the ocean and thankfully, today was the day that could happen.

2021 marks 10 years since I first started photography. My first digital camera was the original and I took that thing with me everywhere. I took photos and videos of anything and everything my friends and I got up to before and after school and during the holidays. For better or for worse, I still have every single file backed up to a hard drive that gets the dust blown off it every few months when I am feeling nostalgic. And as horrendous as those photos are, they mean the world to me.

As the HSC loomed closer, I still had no idea what I was going to do with my life and the only thing I really knew for certain at the time was that I loved taking photos and videos. I somehow got into UOW studying digital media still not knowing what that even meant. My love for photography quickly became an excuse I used to get into concerts for free which is how I began shooting music videos.

When I started in 2013, my goal was for that to be my full-time job and my soul income and for the past 2 years, I am fortunate enough to be in that position. It has been a long and stressful yet rewarding journey. But along the way, I stopped filming and photographing the things that made me happy and instead spent my entire time focusing on bringing other peoples visions to life. And as much as I have loved doing so, I felt burnt out “creatively” and unsatisfied with the work I was making.

Thankfully, that has all changed and I have finally begun taking photos for myself again. Moving forward, this account will be where I share my own personal work. I want to document and share the people, places and things that bring me the most joy in life just as I did when I first began my photography “career”. Although I am unsure myself what that will look like, I hope these photos and videos will bring you some joy when you need it most. @ Royal National Park

⁣The ocean has always held a special place in my heart. Growing up, it felt like I spent more time in the ocean than I did on land. Surfing, swimming and diving was my entire life but as time went on, I was spending less and less time swimming.⠀

My love for the ocean has come back in full force the last few months. I’ve gotten back into surfing and have also bought an underwater housing for my new camera which I am beyond excited to use. Getting back into the ocean after all this time feels so familiar and welcoming; even more so with a camera in my hands.⠀

I can’t wait to share this new chapter of my photography with you. I’m excited to be learning something completely new and sharing my progress along the way. @ Merimbula, New South Wales
