Pyrrhonism is the earliest and most rigorous form of ancient Greek scepticism, originating with Pyrrho of Elis (c. 360–270 BCE). Unlike modern scepticism, which focuses on the limits of knowledge, Pyrrhonism is a way of life (agōgē) oriented towards ataraxia — mental tranquility — achieved through the suspension of judgment (epoché) on all non-evident matters.
