is this a sign i should start shooting more motorsport on film? 👀🏎️🏁

had an epic time down at for and in Feb - challenged myself to do something different and leave the big camera at home for a day (you bet it i couldn’t leave it at home for race day though) and have a bit of fun with my little point and shoot sureshot film cam 📸

if you do a lot of shooting, i think we can all agree it’s nice sometimes to leave all the gear behind and switch things up - keeps things fun to keep the creative cup full! it’s hard to stop chasing the endless crispy shots, but film doesn’t really give you much choice there 😂

maybe next time we take the mini-cam into the pits, or perhaps it’s time to invest in a bigger film setup 👀

2025 is the year I started doing things differently.

In January I said to myself I was going to give photography a real go this year, and boy, I’m so glad I did.

Picking up a camera again after what felt like years of not shooting was incredibly daunting, feeling like I had to learn everything all over again and the nerves crept back in big time, especially starting out with bikes when I had only ever focussed on cars before. The year that followed was better than I could’ve asked for - for sure it was hard trying to fit in work and study on top, but it was absolutely worth it!

We’ve had 31 individual bikes in front of the lens (plus more at events or group shoots), attended 13 different track events (some spanning multiple days!), started with video, bought a home and a second cat, and in the tail end of the year we’ve done 7 weddings and 3 studio shoots - and we’re only just getting started here!

I’m forever thankful to all of you who support me and allow me to do all this, and especially the amazing friends I’ve made along the way, you know who you are and I could not have done it without you lot 🫶

So here’s to 2025, and to pushing even harder in 2026!

This past weekend I swapped the camera for the car and took a turn in the driver’s seat for the Pheasant Wood Circuit - Marulan NSW Deputy 4 Hour final round - something I haven’t done for quite a little while! Ended up driving through from 13th to 4th in the first 20min stint, ending the day 2nd outright and 1st in class 🏆 to say I’m proud of the team is an understatement!! 🤩

Huge thank you to RaceAway Track Time for letting me be a part of the team, and of course to my wonderful co-drivers Cassie and Katie who did an awesome job as well. Thank you as always to RBT Motorsport for both the years of coaching and the video!!
