📍Guangzhou, China. A place where motion never stops, and every corner pulses with energy.

This series captures two perspectives:
Long exposure photography: to reveal the rhythm and intensity of the market. Lights blur, figures melt into emotion, turning chaos into visual poetry.

🛵 Tradidional street shots to highlight the sheer volume of electric scooters that flood the area. In Guangzhou, every bike is part of the city heartbeat.

Let me know in the comments: which photo pulls you in more: the dreamy motion of long exposure or the raw reality of the motorcycles?

❤️ Like if you love seeing the world through a different lens.

From Pork to Pearls...

The best part of this job? The diversity. All in a day, first its hair nets and hot trays at Beak & Sons’ ready-made meals factory, the next it's champagne and shimmer at Freya Enright’s pearl launch.
For a taste of both worlds — six frames, two very different stories. 📸✨

Leo Schofield and Rita Erlich, mid-duel with forks raised, share a laugh over champagne in this perfectly staged clash of culinary titans.
Shot on medium format film and days in the making, the photo captures the golden era of food writing—where reviews were razor-sharp, and the bubbles never stopped flowing.

When is a portrait not a portrait?

In 1943, William Dobell’s portrait of artist Joshua Smith won the Archibald Prize, sparking outrage among local Sydney artists. A group of painters and art dealers took Dobell to court, describing it as a distorted caricature, challenging the very definition of a portrait.
The judge was tasked with answering the question: When is a portrait not a portrait?
A year later, the judge ruled in favour of Dobell, but the controversy left deep scars. Despite the public and personal turmoil, Joshua, deeply hurt by the experience and the strain it placed on his friendship with Dobell, found solace in his art.”
My portrait of Joshua Smith is undoubtedly a portrait—right? Or could I, too, end up in court defending my art? Can you imagine such a thing happening today?

I look forward to making a controversial portrait of you soon…
