Hi, I’m Tahli . A ceramic artist based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. I make small-batch, functional ceramics inspired by ocean life—mugs, bowls, plates and vases, all handmade with care. My work blends illustration, texture, and a love for turtles, whales, and the sea 🌊

I started Coast & Clay (formerly Seaside Ceramics Studio) in 2022, with a focus on creating useful art that connects people to the coast and supports ocean conservation.

I made a small range of handled pieces. These ones are slip-cast, rather than wheel-thrown. They’re a lot thinner, but rims are a bit wonky. Considering how time-consuming they were, I think I’ll go back to the wheel….
Also my recipe for clear glaze has come out cloudy 😅… adding some nice depth to the colours (Oh the joys of mixing powders!)

New pieces on the way. Whilst I’ve been quiet here, I’ve still been working away in my studio.
Next batch with be a bit different than my normal ocean theme…. It’ll be based around bright colours & joy.
Results out on Friday, with hopefully an appearance at Manly markets on Saturday.
