Focus Your Bokeh is here to educate and explore the world of photography not just through the hottest lens of the moment, but through the eyes and minds of like-minded people. I began this blog as a way to start conversations, learn and grow with others who share the same interests and values when it comes to photography in the modern day. Both film and digital is respected here as I use both happ
ily and understand they both have their strengths and weaknesses, just like myself. My name is Renee and I’ve been shooting since my dad gave me his old compact film camera at the age of 8, and yes, it’s one of those stories! My passion really started in the dark room of my high school. Back in those days I had the sparkly high hopes of being a photojournalist, so taking the advice of the local news photographers, I began studying photoimaging at TAFE where I met a whole fruit basket of creatives, just like myself. After studying, I began working freelance for a range of customers and have been working in the field ever since. One of my favourite aspects of photography as both a hobby and a profession, are the people you meet. Creative types who are just as obsessive about the craft and could stay up till dawn sitting around a fire talking about their first blank roll, or corrupted memory card. These are the people I want to meet and go on a journey through space and time with, to continue the exploration of this world as far as it can go.
