A day well spent learning to capture the varying light and colour changes from sunrise to mid day on World Ocean Day.

VixPix Walkshops not only teaches you camera skills but also uses the camera as a tool to connect with others & share creative ideas.
Thank you to all who attended the sunrise and mid morning session.

Skills included concept of thirds, sunrise, highlights & over exposure. Using silhouette as a technique to maintain privacy.

For both your Phone or SLR
Darken your image to gain definition of the individual. It reduces the highlights of sun glint.
* It’s easier to light an image than darken an over exposed (too bright) image.

The ocean gives endlessly, generously, without condition.

Winter is a great season to photograph the ocean. The sky is clear, the colours well saturated and there seems to be more space to observe nature.

I captured this impromptu moment when someone was standing at the edge of the water with a warm drink and view.

With World Ocean Day on Monday 8th June. The ocean gives so much. Let’s return the gesture and look after her. Join me on Monday for a sunrise or at 10am in the Cronulla area for tips on capturing landscapes & be in the moment.

This coming Monday is World Ocean Day June 8th. Different areas have different themes to celebrate.
I'm promoting Walk Talk & Create. Meet people, use your camera (any camera) as a tool to get creative, get real likes from real people and take a photo of a great view.

The details are below - there are two time slots. The second time slot does cater for teenage school kids (must have a parent in attendance).

Distracted by the Dolphins.

The more you look the more you see.
What a great way too start the week with the First day of winter out walking. It’s a season to capture clear skies and beautiful colours.

For the next 7 days I’ll be walking along my local beaches with camera in hand capturing the ocean views before a sunrise shoot on World Ocean Day on 8th June.

When you are missing your walks, rain isn’t a reason to stay inside it’s time to see differently. As an outdoors person I do need a bit more of a nudge. Time to look at my day from a different visual perspective.

A wet day is a good reason to see differently. Go out and capture the moody tones, dramatic cloud formations, the smell of the rain, the wooly wet smell of a wet dog, the surfers waiting for that wave, and the reflections in the puddles.

There’s a whole mood out there waiting to be photographed. All you have to do is grab a camera, cover up & five minutes of courage.
