Meet STEPHEN 🤩 Boy, did I need a hug with this guy today!! I’m renaming him Saint Stephen because he spreads love and cuddles wherever he goes 🥰 Isn’t he a dreamboat??

I’ve been a little quiet on here because I’ve had a rough couple of weeks at home and I’ve made the sad decision to close my new studio so I can take time out to be more present with my family. 2026 and the perfect storm of perimenopause and adolescence have honestly chewed me up and spat me out and I’m officially waving the white flag 🏳️😩

This isn’t the end of The Newport Studio, I’m just taking this one thing off my plate. Any current bookings that need to be moved have been notified and if you have a gift voucher or a prize to claim then send me a message and we’ll get it done asap!

And if you want to take over the lease on a beautiful 126 m² warehouse in Darley St Mona Vale, it’s listed with The North Agency.

Also if you would like to bag a bargain on some brand new furniture, give me a call 😆

You’ve been sharing and voting in droves but I’m thrilled to announce WE HAVE A WINNER of the 2026 Newport Studio Dog of the Year contest…..

And the winner is MILHOUSE 🙌🙌👏👏👏🙌🎉

It was a pretty even spread but Milhouse just took it - and since sharing the good news with her owners I’ve learned today would’ve been this beautiful girl’s 10th birthday (she crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year sadly) so this feels even more fitting to give her the crown 😭👑

Congratulations Meagan Newbery Patrick Newbery and a huge thanks to all your friends and family who voted - plus EVERYONE who took the time to have your say 🙏

Last but most definitely not least is BARNABY 🤩

Just like his brother from another mother RAMBO (and Captain Bigglesworth of Dog of the Year 2025 fame), this guy brings all the main character energy. A protective big brother with the natural blond highlights of dreams, Barnaby takes a little while to warm up to anyone outside the circle of trust but once you're in you're in. Not sure I'm quite there yet but I love a challenge 😆

What to say about this dapper distinguished gentleman? TED dressed up for his photoshoot which I very much approve of - plus the colours are very much on brand for the studio's aesthetic so that's another point from me 😀

This handsome guy (and his family) was an absolute dream to photograph, he took direction perfectly (although very little was needed) and as you can probably tell from these shots, TED identifies as human and understands every word... it's Ted's world and we're all just living in it let's be honest.

Our next finalist entry is a two for one deal - whippets CHLOE and BAILEY.

This is a series I like to call Whippet Good: A study in elegance and absurdity 👑🐾

Somehow incredibly sophisticated and completely ridiculous at the same time, these two are less dogs and more living works of art — I could photograph them all day and happily cover an entire wall with them (in fact, my new walls are crying out for this series...)

This ridiculously good-looking model understood the assignment from the second he stepped into the studio. The poses. The smoulder. The casual Burberry collab...

ROCCO didn’t come in for a photoshoot, he came to shoot his autumn/winter campaign and we were just lucky to be there 😂

This one is an emotional one to write (maybe I've been putting it off a little bit...) because beautiful MILHOUSE left us in March this year 💔🌈

Milly, her family and sister Bulma have been to see me several times in the studio now - and also once on the beach for Christmas photos 🙏 Plus I've been lucky enough to photograph other members of their family and their dogs.

From the second I met them I fell in love with this family so when I heard that Milhouse had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, I was beyond devastated for them.

She was such a character and such an important member of the family - and while we all know our dogs can’t stay with us forever, knowing that doesn’t make saying goodbye to them any easier. It’s one of the reasons photographing dogs means so much to me. At the time, you’re just taking photos of your little mate being themselves. And then one day, those photos become something else entirely.

As of July 1 The Newport Studio has a fabulous new home! We’re sad to have left Newport (but we’re keeping the name soz) but it was purely because we outgrew the space - now we can be found at:
