Weekend mood with Bailey 🐶

My co-star here was surprisingly easy to work with and we had a great time making this little Wes Anderson, summer in Tuscany style edit.

Though the video is fairly simple, I quite enjoyed playing with tight framing and diagonal shapes in the opening sequence as a way to set the scene without giving away too much, and then using the iconic planimetric composition and styled set design seen in Wes Anderson films to carry the rest of the edit.

I sure wasn’t expecting this…

Firstly, I was very fortunate to land an internship with the the incredible team at (whose work I’ve admired for years).

Secondly, on my second day I found myself in Adelaide, shooting a behind the scenes video of the trip.

Huge thanks to and for helping me with some of the shots, showing me the ropes and inspiring me to shoot and edit with more energy and creativity! 👊🏼

Recently, I’ve started to learn that things don’t always (actually hardly ever) go exactly according to plan.

This shoot was a perfect example where despite planning of filming Gully Hydro-foiling, I managed to get everything but that.

Still, I decided to make this edit of Gully absolutely GLOWING in the morning light, as whilst it unfortunately doesn’t show Gully foiling it still encapsulates the vibe of the beach in the morning.

Making videos with a story always trumps, but if the story flops it shouldn’t stop you from making something anyway!

I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to get some of these shots.

My drone signal was dropping in and out as it hovered over the water.

Certainly an adrenaline rush 😅
