I’ve got two new collections rattling around in my head, and I’m finally at a stage where I can start seeing them through the lens.

There may be a dash of colour emerging.

This week I joined as a guest host on her stream and it was such a privilege.
I’ve only just recently but I’m finding it so rewarding. It’s such a welcoming and creative photography community, there’s no bu****it, no judging, just support, enthusiasm, and nurturing of new talent and pushing the boundaries for the veterans. It’s thrilling.

Anyone who’s keen on photography can join in, join the Discord and enter the challenges. Streams are on Sunday’s at noon AEST. Dm for more info if you’re interested. It’s a brilliant lockdown joy.

Here is one of my winning entries to the weekly photo challenge, the theme this week was Symmetry.

Some mornings in 2020, during Melbournes 100+ lockdown, we would leave the bedroom door open overnight so we could be awoken by the early sun.
We had great big windows looking east and would get spectacular sunrises and strong, hot, sun rays streaming into our home. It was a really magical start to what would be another repetitive lockdown day.

This photograph is from a series I’ve been sitting on for a year now, it was intended for an exhibition but I want these to now be in people's homes, especially while we all are confined to our four walls.

These artworks deserve to be on walls, they deserve to bring you a moment of peace, a moment of visual respite. As usual, these prints will be large format, limited run.

There will also be smaller sizes and those will be an unlimited run.

They are available now at www.teganthorpe.com

This is an artwork I’ve been sitting on for a year now.
I would spend afternoons in August 2020, Melbourne’s second wave lockdown, staring at the sky from our Melbourne apartment, watching clouds rolling in from the south across our big eastern windows.
We’re now in Sydney, in our new home, going through Australia’s third wave. I want to share this artwork, the things I’ve created that can’t be on gallery walls, can’t be seen while we mingle at exhibition openings, laughing and drinking wine with no labels and eating tiny cubes of nondescript cheese.
I will make a small run of these cloud works available on my website in the coming days.
They deserve to be on walls, the deserve to bring you a moment of peace, a moment of visual respite. As usual these prints will be large format ☁️

Question time!
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is this…
** Don't Take Criticism From Someone You Wouldnt Take Advice From. **
I’m curious, what’s yours?

The photograph is from a work-in-progress Sky series ☁️.
Should I make some prints available?
