Produced and directed by Ambient Media, this film explores the new HWLE workplace through the design thinking behind it as much as the space itself.

Shaped by light, material restraint, and a clear spatial rhythm, the project balances function with atmosphere across a series of connected environments.

Featuring voices from Graham Nicholas and HWLE, the narrative was designed to give context to the space rather than simply document it.

A full day chasing how light moves through this home in Gerroa.

From first light cutting through the skylights, to the soft wash across stone and plaster, to that final horizon line holding everything still.

What stood out wasn’t just the view, it was the way the house shapes light as you move through it.

Curves, thresholds, compression and release. Award-winning project, but more importantly a space that reveals itself slowly over time.

If you’re building something considered, this is what it can feel like when it’s captured with intent.

5 Martin Place | Graham Nicholas x HWLE

An honour to direct and produce the cinematic film for this remarkable project by Graham Nicholas, created for HWLE within one of Sydney’s most iconic addresses.

Located inside the historic 5 Martin Place, the design carefully balances heritage architecture with a refined contemporary workplace. Rich materials, sculptural forms and a restrained palette create a calm and considered environment within the grand scale of the building.

Our approach to the film was to frame the story through the voices of the directors at Graham Nicholas and HWLE, allowing the thinking behind the project to guide the narrative while moving through the architecture, materials and atmosphere of the space.
