CCP has brought back their famed photo book service..

Easiest way to make a simple but effective book of photos - you choose the images to print - we make those.
You choose the order they should be in and we bind them together.
You can have a clear cell cover to see the first image [as seen here] or choose a hard cover matte board

The images are printed on the DLab machines..

Queensland's richest acquisitive photographic prize, the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award 2026 is open for entries until Monday 17 August. Staged by HOTA: Home of Arts, previous winners include Polly Borland, Polixeni Papapetrou and Justine Varga.

Submissions can reflect traditional and expanded practice including photocollage, sculpture, projection, installation and cameraless photography.

This year’s finalists will be selected by a panel of esteemed judges including 2018 Award winner Tamara Dean (pictured), Director of UNSW Galleries José Da Silva and independent writer and curator Mikala Tai.

To support participation, the entry fee has been reduced to just $15 AUD. Mob Tix for First Nations people are available for $10 AUD.

Out of pure curiosity I looked into numerology today and specifically the number 2.
CCP is at 263 [Bronte Rd Waverley] so that makes us a 2….but what does it mean?

The interweb tells me:
2 is the ultimate symbol of balance, partnership, and harmony.
It goes on to use these key words - Peacemaker - Deep empathy - Cooperative and Challenges.

Lucky coincidence?
We believe that that is exactly what CCP hopes to be and is seen to be by our fabulous customers. Cooperation and partnership is our key, we listen to you and what you need, and no challenge is too hard resulting in your work being perfectly balanced.

If you haven’t stepped inside 263 Bronte Rd Waverley come on down with a print or frame order and see if this is all true.. we don’t know if numerology is true but we are happy for being a number 2.

This is what the secret alleyway entrance to our shop/lab looks like if you are arriving and parking on Carrington Ave [parallel to Bronte Rd]

Look for Judges Lane and walk up to Bronte Rd. Turn left and there we are!!

If you have a large order to collect you are welcome to drive up Judges Lane and park directly behind us so we can help load your car. This is by appointment only, there is no regular parking there.

10am - 4pm Sat
CLOSED MONDAY ..but you can make a plan with Iain to load up on a Monday if need be.

The World Cup 2026 has just ended. Millions of photos have been taken. Happily, The Guardian has compiled their top 30 - well 30 pics, I'm sure there are more favourites yet to be seen..

Sports photographers, when they are at the height of their craft, make some of the best photos.. The Guardian has provided some background but the images all speak for themselves.. well done to each photographer.

We ask our ARTIST in FOCUS & FRAME lots of questions, including what the best photography advice they were given?

Photographer John Chapman, our current AiFaF told us:
“Probably that a photographic image is a form of language to communicate ideas and emotions. This came from Des Crawley, a Professor in the field of Communication.”

And which photographer inspired him?

John answered: “Roger Ballen for his sense of the bizarre. He uses weird and disparate objects to create compelling, theatrical images.”

Check out Johns RED HAND series [some seen here] which we’re told are some of John’s fave personal images at the moment.

If you don't have a fave or inspiring photographer that helps drive your own work then you're not yet on the right path.. thats not a criticism but a challenge to go research the greats. Its such a good thing to do and has amazing affects when you do...
