Keon is turning ONE year old soon and we celebrated with a Cake Smash session for him. 🎈👶

Keon wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the cake itself – but his genuine curiosity and expressions made for some candid and memorable shots. What he did enjoy, though, was the post-smash bath that followed. His delight and happiness shine through in these images. 📸🎉

Looking for Maternity Photographs?

While there are plenty of different styles of pregnancy photoshoots out there, one that's been gaining in popularity is the milk bath session. It's unique, easy, relaxing and the resulting photos are absolutely stunning.

If you're considering booking a milk bath session with Chapter One Photography, we recommend doing so in your second trimester. We will schedule the sessions between 32 - 36 weeks. At this point, your belly will be prominently visible, but you won't be too uncomfortable or tired to enjoy the experience. Plus, you'll have plenty of time to get your photographs back and share them with family and friends before your due date.

📷🎂 Cake Smash Fun with Little Abir! 🎂📷

We recently had the pleasure of capturing some gorgeous moments during a cake smash photography session for one-year-old Abir, and we couldn't help but share this adorable experience! 💙💦🌳

Abir's cake smash was a blend of blue and aqua, sprinkled with hints of woodland magic. The setup perfectly complemented his playful nature and brought out his infectious smiles throughout the session. 🌿✨

It was such a joy to see the whole family again, as they had visited us a few years ago with their eldest son. The two brothers were simply too cute together, sharing giggles and creating everlasting memories. 🤗💙

📸 Capturing the Moments: Meet Owen! 🌟

I had the pleasure of photographing gorgeous 4 week old Owen at my studio recently. 😄

Unlike the typical under two-week-old newborns I usually work with, Owen was more alert and engaged the whole time. He gave us some cute expressions that showcased his budding personality. Seeing him scrunch up his face and gaze lovingly at his parents melted my heart. 💕 Like many at his age he spent his time trying to reach his tiny fingers up to his mouth.

I have got a little bit behind in my posting but recently, I had the pleasure of photographing 9-day-old Claire. She was absolutely gorgeous, with delicate features and a peaceful demeanor.

As I set up for the session I remembered photographing big brother Lachlan for his newborn photos four years ago (oh my gosh how fast time flies!).

Claire was an absolute dream to work with. She slept peacefully through each pose, allowing me to capture all of her delicate features.

Big brother Lachlan was also fantastic. He was so well-behaved during his part of the session, holding his baby sister with such care and tenderness.

Happy 1st Birthday Maddie. Big sister Scarlett watched on, we did her cake smash too five years ago :)

Ida - 5 days old

Aww how cute is this little girl?

Mum had her heart set on our signature 'naked on tummy' pose and Ida made me work for it!

Lovely Ida was so peaceful, if not sleepy. Still I have a lot of patience and can outlast any wide awake newborn.

Her very sweet family watched over the session, rightfully admiring their beautiful little girl.

Welcome to the world Ida.

Ella - One Year

Lovely Ella was not in top form for her session. Smiles were reluctantly given out by her. Sometimes you just don't feel like partying!

Still she managed to tuck in for a bit of cake and splash around in her bath.

Hopefully next time we see lovely Elizabeth she will feel more excited!

Lucas - 9 months

So lovely to have sweet Lucas back in the studio 9 months after his newborn shoot.

He wasn't giving away his smiles too easily for the session but we managed to get a few out of him!

Looking forward to seeing him again in 3 months for his first birthday. (Honestly it feels like Lucas was only just born - how can we be talking first birthday already!)
