Let me tell you something…

Our home isn’t big, and it isn’t perfect.

But it’s our safe place, and the only home our kids have ever known 🏡

I want them to remember this space and how they felt living here forever.

So I never let any insecurities stop me from capturing our memories at home.

We have had multiple in-home sessions and I have adored every single one of them!

On the flip side, I have captured many in-home sessions, in all types of homes. From homes in the midst of renovations, to homes that have been recently moved into (like this one!)

Just a little food for thought, and maybe a little push to consider an in home for your next session.

Because no matter the chapter, memories at home are always worth capturing ✨

What is the role of photos?

I believe it’s to literally document the chapters of life ✨

Getting married,
the sold sign in front of your new house,
and the BIG announcement.

The newborn scrunch,
your toddler’s too-short fringe,
and the gap from their first lost tooth.

It’s all there.

In the albums,
on the fridge,
in the frames,
on the phone camera roll.

Thank goodness for photos 💗

Don’t tell me that your story is boring.⁠⁠

I don’t want to hear that it is nothing special.⁠

And I absolutely won’t agree if you say you’ve got no story to tell.⁠⁠

Your beautiful, busy, crazy LIFE is your story!

Every day is another page in this chapter, and one that deserves to be told.

Just promise me that when you tell it, you will choose to play a starring role.⁠

No more photos taken of “just the kids”.

You’re a main character too!

Us photographers often like to talk about how “photos are a ticket back to a moment past, etc. etc...”

But!

Do you know another reason why photos are super important? Besides capturing your memories for your future self?

The reason of NOW!

For when you’ve woken up feeling like you’ve been hit by a bus, and your eye won’t stop twitching; after yet another sleepless night.

For when you’re racing down the hallway with your third load of washing for the day, whilst thinking of all the things you still haven’t done, and what on earth you’re cooking for dinner!

And then you turn the corner, and catch a glimpse of these photos hanging on your wall.

And you can feel your heart smile. Then you exhale.

You exhale for every thing that those tiny pixels in that frame represent - your reason 🫶

So don’t forget to take the photos for now 💖

When you think of an in-home session, you probably think we will be photographing around your entire house. Am I right?

But in reality, we will follow the light!

But what does that mean?

Well if you have endless amounts of windows with beautiful light streaming in, we will mix it up and photograph anywhere and everywhere!

Or if your house is like most houses, you will only have one or two rooms with beautiful light.

And this is completely ok too!

Most sessions take place entirely in one room only, much like this gorgeous session 🫶

Because all we need to make magic is light, love and connection!

And sometimes the added bonus of three of the sweetest kids, and their doting parents 🥹

Mummas and their babes are by far my favourite people to photograph 🥹

I didn’t entirely realise when I began my journey into photography, but motherhood photography is most definitely my passion.

From tender looks to massive bear hugs, it’s the in between moments that truly light my soul on fire 🔥

Because these are the tiny moments I never want to forget with my own children.

The little nuances that I know often go unseen and unnoticed in the busyness of everyday life.

So the opportunity to preserve these moments for you to reminisce, brings me an unimaginable amount of joy 😭🫶

To all the beautiful mummas who joined me for another year of Motherhood Minis, thank you for trusting me to capture this fleetingly beautiful chapter for you once again!

I’m not going to lie, toddlers at a newborn session can be challenging!

New babies bring new emotions, and you never truly know how they are going to react until after your newest addition has arrived.

Some toddlers love on their baby sibling (even a little too hard!), others are completely uninterested, and the rest sit somewhere in between.

But rest assured no matter how your toddler is feeling on the day, I will absolutely do my very best to capture an image of both your babies in the one frame. 🫶

I have all sorts of tricks up my sleeve; but if all else fails, sometimes it just takes a little time and patience! ✨

One of the greatest gifts we can give our babies is photos.

Not just photos of them, but also photos of us.

Photos of how it feels to be loved.

And photos of how their childhood feels.

And this beautiful family leaned all the way into that.

Not only did they book the shoot, but they didn’t overthink it.

They arrived just as they are, playful, connected and completely present.
