Devastating news. My heart just sank. Sick Of It All shared the heartbreaking news that Lou has passed away. I’ve been following the band for more than 30 years. To me, they are “The Band”. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen them live, and every single show was unforgettable. Their energy was unstoppable. They had it all—passion, creativity, commitment, respect, and true camaraderie. To me, they represent New York Hardcore like no other band, with all my respect to the rest of the hardcore family. For nearly 40 years, they gave us something to believe in, and they never stopped giving everything they had. I was incredibly fortunate to work with the band a few times—a dream come true after being a fan for so many years. The thought of never seeing them again breaks my heart. Right now, my thoughts are with the rest of the band, Lou’s family, and everyone who loved him. Sending them all my love and deepest condolences.

Rest in peace, Lou. Thank you for everything. Your energy will live with us forever.

Do you know that feeling when, before you even realise it, a band manages to set the whole venue on fire within just a couple of songs, and everyone - even the security staff - is head banging? And that energy never drops from the first song to the very last? Do you know when, without even noticing, you suddenly find yourself at the final song of the night, and the only thing in your mind is when you’ll get to see them again? Do you know when you come across a band that isn’t afraid to take a stand and make it crystal clear which side they’re on? If you know what I’m talking about, then Grandson is probably one of the bands on heavy rotation in your play list. 10/10 Thanks to SpotlightReport and DestroyAllLines.

That Dream Theater is from another planet is something we already knew, but having the opportunity to enjoy a couple of hours with the band revisiting 40 years of their career with Mike Portnoy sitting behind the drums is a luxury that doesn’t happen every day.
