As a Sydneysider, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches and rock pools. This is another one I added to my image collection last year, in Avalon on the Northern Beaches. I always enjoy making the trip up that way, such a chilled vibe and a great way to start the day.

Missing these dramatic views from Lake Wakatipu. It’s hard to believe this was captured more than two years ago during a family trip to Queenstown. The way the setting sun silhouetted The Remarkables and reflected these intense colors across the water was truly unforgettable.

Taking the walk along the Cahill Expressway offers such a unique perspective of the Sydney Opera House as the low sun creates these incredible long shadows across the parkland below. The way the light hits the water and the white sails of the Opera House makes it well worth the early start.

The Bay Marker at Wentworth Point is one of five conic mounds created as part of the 2000 Olympics. From top-down, the hypnotic spiral design makes it one of the most recognisable features of Sydney Olympic Park.

This is an example of how the atmosphere can completely dictate the final image. I visited the Flagstaff Hill Lighthouse on a morning where the sky was heavy and incredibly gloomy. While the colour version didn't quite capture the feeling I wanted, converting it to black and white really emphasised the drama and movement in the sky created by the long exposure. It was a great morning spent capturing the quiet, moody strength of this iconic landmark.

As most of us are probably reflecting on the year that was, this image takes me back to February when I drove down to Austinmer Beach. If you look closely in the bottom right of the image, you'll see me looking straight up at the drone. This was a great morning as I visited a couple of beaches and the famous Sea Cliff Bridge all in one trip.

With this being my last post for 2025, I wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year and all the best for 2026. Thanks for your continued support of my photography!

It's great when a colour bomb is forecasted and it actually comes through. This was taken several weeks ago at Monterey Beach near the Airport. It was very quiet, with only a few other people were there at this time to see it. A peaceful way to start the day.

Sunrise over our Sydney icon. As touristy as this spot is, it never gets old and always delivers. A bonus of being there early is convenient free parking on the street next to Park Hyatt, enough time to take photos, go for a walk and grab a coffee for the drive home.
