We were sitting in a Te Anu hotel. The rain coming down and the road to Milford Closed for at least the next day so we made the decision to head back to Mt Cook
It was a full days drive and by the time we reached Twizel it was grab a feed and crash. I didn’t even check the forecast but woke early and got a nice surprise with heavy fog!

This is one of those (rare) images where less is more when it comes to editing. Sometimes, nature does all the work for us.

Full Moon Rising Over Coalcliff
This image won Best in Salon and it nearly didn’t happen.
We were on our way back from Windang Island and last minute decided to take Bulli Pass. The day had been gloomy and flat but just as dusk started to set in it cleared to these beautiful hues.
At that moment we were near Coalcliff ocean pool and after a mad dash down the steep ramp there was the full moon peeping over the horizon.
A lucky break and one of my favourite seascapes.
