After far too much procrastinating. I have finally entered Archie and myself into our first scent work trial in 2 weekends time. It's ok, everything is ok, it's not like we haven't trained this year...

After photographing at the State Titles last month the bug has bitten me again, and I want to get out there and compete with my little mutt. Plus, he loves it so much. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

And also, please send help! I need all the tips and tricks!

It's been a long time coming, but the next photography workshop is almost here! These always book out within a week of being released, so make sure you're on the pre-register list to get first dibs on a spot.

This workshop will be held at Yarramundi Reserve on the 1st of November from 5pm, and we will have three brand new dog models. This workshop will focus on all things action, both on sand/grass and in the water, as well as trying out some tricky panning shots too.

I've gained a lot of new followers recently (yay!), so I thought I would re-introduce myself to all the wonderful new people who have decided to give me a follow.

I have been a photographer for over 13 years, first starting out photographing horse shows and events then taking a little break before coming back to mainly capturing images for private clients. During my time photographing horse shows, I travelled up and down the east coast of Australia attending various shows, but all that travel left me longing for home which is why I decided to now focus on private sessions.

My two furry sidekicks are Archie and Chico, both rescue dogs and the centre of my world. The person I am today is because of them. I have learned so much about dog behaviour, training and how to conduct myself around dogs purely from the many training sessions I have done with them. I have also previously photographed for a rescue group for over 5 years, which also gained me the skills to be able to photograph any dog, no matter their age, breed or energy level.

I absolutely love my job and the places it takes me. Creating portraits for families to love and cherish of their dogs, horses and families brings me so much joy, and I hope to be doing the exact same for many, many, many more years to come.

I'm looking for women who have that kind of connection with their horse for my Heart Horse project. The project is all about creating beautiful photographs of you and your horse, and capturing the relationship you share.

Now that we have had some decent warm weather, I can't wait to kick off my equine sessions again! I have been severely missing my horse clients over the colder months, but now that the Winter woolies are starting to shed I am expecting my usual Spring influx of photo session enquiries.

I would so LOVE to do more equine sessions in Yarramundi Reserve. The mix of greenery and water is something special, just look at the images of Sophia with two of her horses Dakota and Dallas we captured earlier this year.

I will be releasing something very special for equine clients tomorrow, so if you have been thinking of booking a session this is the perfect time.

People are sometimes surprised I am so brain dead after a photo session, but once I explain the reason why it makes total sense.

During a photo session I am doing so much more than just pressing the camera shutter button. That's probably the easiest thing I do during a session to be honest. I am constantly thinking, thinking about lighting, angles, location, keeping an eye out for rouge dogs, adjusting camera settings, planning the next photo, problem-solving on the fly... You get it, the list goes on.

I want to make each and every photo session perfect for my clients, both with perfect photos and a perfect experience. I don't want to force or stress a dog out, dog owners know when their dog is not feeling ok and that's not mentioning how terrible uncomfortable dogs look.

The mental exhaustion after a session is real, but worth it. ❤

The votes are in, and the Spring Dog of the Season is.... Halo the Australian Shepherd!

It was a tight race to the end, Halo ended on 37 votes with just over 100 votes all up, Merlin came in second with 27 votes.
