There are some people who carry pieces of your history that nobody else could ever understand.
Chrissy is one of those people for me.
We were girls together, long before we knew who we would become. Before motherhood, before the responsibilities, the heartbreaks, the growing, the changing, the chapters we couldn’t possibly have imagined back then.
And somehow, all these years later, I get to stand behind my camera and photograph her becoming a mother.
There is something profoundly beautiful about witnessing someone you once knew as a girl step into a version of herself you could never have imagined.
These photographs aren’t just maternity photographs to me.
They are a little piece of time.
A reminder that life moves impossibly fast, that the people we grow up beside can become the people we are lucky enough to witness becoming parents, and that some friendships quietly survive every version of who we become.
Chrissy, I am so honoured that after all these years, I get to hold this chapter for you through my lens.
And one day, when this beautiful baby looks back at these photographs, they’ll see their mum exactly as she was here.
Loved.
Glowing.
Waiting.
Already completely theirs.
What an absolute privilege it is to photograph the people who knew you before you became who you are. 🤍
