This little man's first birthday, captured entirely in studio light. 🎂🤍

No natural window light, no golden hour — just careful lighting and a whole lot of joyful chaos. From the calm before, to full cake-smash mayhem, right through to a splashy bubble bath clean-up — this session had it all in under an hour.

Myth: your baby needs to sleep the entire session for beautiful newborn photos.

Reality: sometimes 20-30 minutes of good, settled sleep is genuinely all it takes. 🤍

This little lady was around 4 weeks old at her session - a little past that classic "sleeps through everything" newborn stage, more alert, more curious, more herself. It took a little patience and a few settling techniques, but once she drifted off, even a short stretch of sleep gave us this entire gallery of soft, sleepy portraits.

If you're worried your window has closed because your baby's already a few weeks old, or that they "need" to cooperate perfectly - they really don't. Swipe through to see. 🐨

30 minutes. That's genuinely all it took to tell this family's whole story. 🤍

Mini sessions are one of my favourite offerings for families with a little one under two - because let's be honest, that's usually about as long as their patience lasts anyway! Rather than fighting for a full hour, we make every minute count: real connection, genuine moments, golden light, and done before anyone hits their limit.

Before it's a prop, it's just yarn and a quiet evening. 🧶

Most of what you see in my studio starts here — no pattern rushed, no shortcuts taken. Just stitch by stitch, usually with a cup of tea going cold beside me, thinking about the little ones who'll wear these pieces one day.

It's slow work. But I think slow, handmade things carry something you just can't buy off a shelf — and that's exactly the feeling I want woven into every session. 🤍

A little glimpse into the collection. 🧶

Every piece here started as loose yarn and an idea — knitted, washed, and set aside, waiting for exactly the right little one to wear it. Some are simple, some take weeks. All of them are made with the same care I've carried since my days as a doll maker, just in a much smaller, cosier form now.

This is the part of the job nobody really sees — but it's honestly one of my favourite parts of what I do. 🤍

Swipe through to meet the whole crew — three big personalities and one very determined newest addition, who took her sweet time deciding whether sleep was even on the agenda that day. Worth every minute of the wait for that sleepy koala energy though. 🐨

Some sessions are calm and quiet. Some are joyfully chaotic. This one was a bit of both — and honestly, that's exactly how I like them.

My background as a doll maker means every hand-knitted bonnet, delicate wrap, and bespoke texture in my studio is made with the same care I once put into tiny, handcrafted dolls — this little sweater included. When you walk in for your session, you might find a piece I finished just days before — made specifically with your session in mind.

It's a small thing, maybe. But I think it's part of what makes a session here feel less like a booking, and more like a little piece of soul and intention woven into your family's story. 🤍

Every parent secretly hopes for this: a newborn who sleeps through their entire session. 🦄 Yesterday, we got exactly that — and honestly, it doesn't get much better than a baby this settled and content. If you're expecting and slightly terrified about session-day chaos... this is proof it can go beautifully.
