Audi RS2, this insane thing had a letter written to the editor of Autocar magazine many many moons ago (mid 90s) by a Porsche 911 driver who complained that a possibly deristricted & fettled, one of these monsters came up behind him in the fast lane of an autobahn, lights flashing. He checked and noted his right foot was planted on the go faster pedal to the floorboards! So, he pulled over to the middle lane only to be overtaken by a blue blur so aggressively that it left a wake, so to speak, behind it that pushed the Porsche onto the slow lane. 😮😮😮😨😱

I’ve driven, owned and lived with 57+ different cars currently on my 43yr driving CV. Turbo and NA air cooled flat 6s, straight 6 masterpieces to the de rigueur V8s and V12s among them, but ever on my bucket list was the Audi 5cylinder turbo, recently ticked that box, among its stablemates it is my go to for long midnight touge runs. There is just no other sound and feel like it, from the charismatic warble of the exhaust/engine note to the glorious turbo lag, what a unit!. (l definitely top 3 in my book. In fact maybe the only thing above it would be a turbo V10? Maybe... . Big maybe.
