Phi phi islands was high on our to do list here in Thailand!

These islands are about an hour speed boat ride away from Phuket in the Krabi province and are a sight to see! However due to a huge amount of tourism the area has changed drastically over the last decade in an effort to save the marine life in the area.
If you’re planning on visiting the phi phi islands here are some important things to note.

- 400 baht per person is required to be paid on top of your tour to access the national park
- it’s a long a rough boat trip to the islands. Take sea sickness tablets and be prepared to be thrown around the boat
- you cannot swim off the beach at Maya Bay. Fines apply for anyone who breaks these rule and they are actively enforced
- do not take anything off the boat at monkey island. The monkeys can be aggressive if they think you have food
-Maya Bay only accepts a certain number of boats to be docked at a time. So there is no guarantee you’ll get to see the iconic area from the beach.
You’ll be able to see Maya Bay from the boat if you cannot access the bay itself.

Can finally check this waterfall off our bucket list!

The Barrington Coast has a lot of impressive sights. But this easily has to be one of the best.
Ellenborough Falls stands at 200m and is the tallest single drop waterfall in NSW and one of the tallest in the southern hemisphere.
Photos really can’t do this place justice and it needs to be seen in person. But the hike is hard.
Despite only being 600m each way. The track consists of 642 steps each way. It’s a rough hike but well worth it once you reach the base of the falls!

When we visited the falls were well and truely flowing. The camera was soaked (as you can see) so we didn’t explore too much as it would of been way too dangerous.
There are a few view points you can view the falls from. Each impressive. However it’s really hard to beat this one.
Ps: it’s a dog friendly hike

The Roos from diamond head 😍

Aren’t they just the sweetest!
This campground is known for having an abundance of kangaroos both on the beach and in the campground and during the spring you’ll get all the joeys as well!
It’s easy to see why this campground is constantly called one of the best in NSW, even in the rain it’s gorgeous

The beaches of Bouddi National Park 😍

This place is where the mountains meet the sea and it’s right here on the Central Coast!
Bouddi national park is easily one of the most picturesque locations here on the coast and with headlands and beaches like this it’s easy to see why! We’d put money on getting these beaches to yourself, you’ve just got to be happy with a steep hike back to the car 🙃

Fun fact: the Bouddi Coastal walk is consistently dubbed the best coastal walk in NSW! Have you done it before?

Hiking szn is here!! Stay tuned! We have a few of our OG trails we’ll be revisiting on the central coast!

The Yuelarbah Track in Glenrock Nature Reserve is one of the best coastal walks in Newcastle.

From pristine waterfalls, untouched bushland and coastal views it’s easy to see why this track is so popular.
Generally we avoid busy trails, but this is one that is worth the hype.
If you don’t mind stairs and a steep trek back to the car, highly reccomend this trail when you visit the region 👌🏻

The walls is easily one of our favourite hikes in the Blue Mountains.
The Walls lookout offers 180 degree views of the iconic blue mountains, putting the size of this national park into perspective.

Seeing the mountains from this perspective, away from the tourists with nothing but bell birds and silence is honestly surreal.
If you haven’t done this hike yet, add it to your list! The trail notes are also up on the blog (link in bio)
