One of the things I enjoy most about photography is sharing the experience with others.

**“Golden Reflection”** was captured during a sunrise photowalk with students and friends. While everyone was exploring the area and creating their own images, this scene caught my eye. The rising sun was casting a beautiful golden glow across the landscape, and the still water was reflecting every bit of it back.

Sunrise shoots are always special, but they're even better when shared. There's something about standing alongside other photographers, watching the light change and seeing how each person interprets the same scene differently. We can all be standing in the same place, yet walk away with completely different photographs.

What drew me to this image was the simplicity. Warm morning light, calm water, and a reflection that seemed to double the beauty of the scene. No dramatic weather. No complicated composition. Just a fleeting moment where everything came together perfectly.

It's a reminder that photography isn't always about travelling to remote locations or chasing extreme conditions. Sometimes it's about being present, slowing down, and appreciating the beauty unfolding right in front of you.

As a print, **Golden Reflection** brings warmth, calm and a sense of optimism into a space. Much like a sunrise itself, it's a gentle reminder that every day begins with new possibilities.

Timing is everything.

“𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓮 𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓮 𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓮” was captured during 𝓟𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓬𝓪𝓷 𝓣𝓲𝓶𝓮 at The Entrance, just as the crew from Marine Wildlife Rescue Central Coast tossed a fish into the air. In an instant, every pelican in the vicinity had the same idea — *that fish belonged to them.*

What followed was absolute chaos.

Wings flapping, beaks reaching, eyes locked on the prize, and every bird convinced they were about to win lunch. The scene lasted only a few seconds, but it perfectly captured the competitive nature of these iconic birds.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy photographing Pelican Time so much. You can spend an hour watching calm, graceful birds drifting across the water, then suddenly everything erupts into action. One fish. One opportunity. Dozens of determined competitors.

The title **"Mine Mine Mine"** seemed fitting. Looking at the image, you can almost hear the argument unfolding as every pelican makes its case for why they should be the lucky winner.

Beyond the humour, it's also a reminder of the fantastic work the volunteers from Marine Wildlife Rescue Central Coast do in caring for and supporting local wildlife.

Happy World Ocean Day.

The ocean certanly plays a big part in my photography, particularly since moving to the Central Coast.

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 ... and while you'll never hear me say I enjoy being cold, I do enjoy what winter brings to my photography.

Every season offers something different in front of the camera. Winter simply gives me a different palette to work with. The colours become more subdued, the weather more dramatic, and the stories I look for begin to change.

“𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦” captures that shift perfectly. Darkening skies, approaching weather, and a familiar location taking on a completely different personality. It's a reminder that landscapes are never static. The same place can tell a different story depending on the season, the light and the conditions.

That's one of the reasons I keep returning to locations throughout the year. I'm not chasing the same photograph over and over again. I'm chasing new interpretations, new moods, and new ways to tell the story of a place.

As we move into winter, I'll be looking for misty mornings, stormy coastlines, flowing waterfalls and those quieter moments that the cooler months often provide. Not because I love the cold, but because I love the opportunities it creates.
