A quick roadtrip last Thursday to capture Jordan formal day. Some people are hard to capture, Jordan wasn't! The hardest part was choosing which great shots to use because she looked amazing in all of them.

From a technical perspective shooting in the broad daylight of 1pm has its challenges, fortunately there were a few pools of shade for me to use and to not let the person your photographing melt!

As always my favourites are black and white, the texture of the background on the first shot made it really pop.

Some action from the Pittsworth Sprints Grass roots racing is magic to me. Something about seeing not just historical or high end cars but mixed in with the race car dad built, on the concrete floor as best he can. Families racing, mates and their part time race cars. That's motor sport at its best. The 70yr old bloke getting out of the Datsun 1200 smiling like a mental patient!!

Being a photographer I find the whole AI and images thing a fun thing to navigate. On the weekend I went to a lovely wedding with my family and the boys and I were all looking dapper so I thought we'd do a little shoot in the lounge room. The aim was to look a bit like a Tarantino movie poster.

I still used my camera, I still used my flash, I still posed the models (I use the term models loosely!) I still edited the photo to get us to look right. Then I explained to AI how I wanted the background to look. Boom exactly what I wanted. I know it's somewhere in the grey area between photography and art ( I use the term art loosely too) so happy with how it can put. Thoughts? Slide across to see the original photo.

A few months ago I did this great little business portrait shoot for McNamee Frame. It's the first time I used my 70-200mm as a portrait lens and love the compression that came with it! I also enjoyed the texture of the backgrounds and using the surrounding buildings for frames! Great team to work with and I'm so happy with the results.

Shooting miserable things when I'm miserable = slightly less miserable. KENOPSIA photography and the hyper empty have always felt like home to me. Something about the memory of happier more vibrant times gone by and nature slowly reclaiming it's space in abandoned places.

Formal with a family twist. Some black and whites from a formal/family shoot a few weeks ago. I've been fortunate to capture multiple family memories for this lovely client over the years. Time flies when you're trying to get through the day to day of family life. Hang on to the memories. They're over before you know it!
