AFLQ Darling Downs Senior Men's Grand Final 2026 - "extra time" highlights.

I hadn't prepared for an evening match so had to make do with the equipment I had - quality may not be 'up to scratch' but the memories remain.

AFLQ Darling Downs Senior Men's Grand Final was one for the history books!
University Cougars and Goondiwindi Hawks were tied at full time - same number of goals and same number of points. Couldn't have got a closer and more exciting game!
Extra time saw the Cougars land a goal right in the second half of extra time, leaving nothing but a miracle for the Hawks to score again, which for this year, wasn't to be.
Congratulations to both teams on providing a fitting finale to the 2026 Season with a cracker of a game.

It started with smiles and commitment,... then went into over-time .... then went to Penalty Shoot Outs.
Such a hot day and such a big effort from the SWQ Thunder FC Senior Men, but in the end, the day wasn't going to have the fairy tale ending but it certainly wasn't for trying.

So nice for me to finally make the sidelines for this game!

I've been very quiet on the sidelines this season (IYKYK), so it was nice to manage three quarters of yesterday's SWQ Thunder FC Women at their last home game for the Season.
Full time was a 1 all draw against North Brisbane FC - but still see's the Thunder Girls sitting top of the ladder.
This team is looking strong and connected on the field - playing great football!!! 💪

For me, it was all about Jess last night for her final home game with the SWQ Thunder FC Senior Women. I couldn't stay for the whole game, but was so happy to be on the sidelines to capture a few memories for this special young lady. xx
It wasn't the end she had planned after being lifted from the field in the second half - NOT the way your last home game is meant to go!!! Fingers crossed for you!
So much support on the sidelines including her U12 Girls out in force to cheer on their Coach - a fitting tribute for such a dedicated and passionate advocate for womens' and girls' football.
Certainly will miss your smiling face! xx
