Family photos never need to be boring or forced - my number one goal is to make sure you feel relaxed and can actually have fun together, so that you’re able to look back on your photos and remember all the love and joy you share ✨

TORQUAY FAMILY PHOTOS PLANNING TIP ☀️🌊

With spring just around the corner, don’t forget to factor daylight savings into your outdoor family photo shoot plans!

All of my beach sessions on the Surfcoast are scheduled to coincide with either sunrise or sunset – this means that the start times for outdoor photo sessions will change quite abruptly on the 5th October when daylight savings kicks in here in Victoria.

Session start times will be later, which I know can impact families with toddlers & young children who have early bed times. So, for example, on Saturday 4th October an outdoor photo session here in Torquay would start at approx 5:30pm, whereas on Sunday 6th October it will start at 6:30pm – as we creep toward summer and the days get longer, those session start times gradually get later in the evening (by mid December session start times are around 8pm).

I know for some families, the dream of balmy warm weather for their photoshoot on the beach is more important and so a 7:30/8pm start time in December/January is worth it! However for other families, they would rather deal with slightly cooler weather but have the convenience of an earlier start time so that there’s no messing with bed time! It all comes down to personal preference and what you think is going to work best for your family.

With that in mind, I have two weekend dates left before daylight savings kicks in, so get in touch if you would like more information or to schedule your family session in 📩

Saturday 13th September - 6:30am or 5:10pm
Saturday 20th / Sunday 21st September – 6:15am or 5:20pm

We could not be more disorganised if we tried, but we leave for 4 weeks in our caravan to central Australia this weekend- crossing our fingers everything just magically falls into place in the next couple of days 🙈 planning to share updates on stories, but switching off from actual *work*, so session enquiries will be responded to when I’m back in the office around 30th July ☀️
