Wow. Happy New Year, everyone!! What a whirlwind 12 months it's been 💫
Looking ahead - 2026 will be very different for this little business of mine. I have about 4 weeks left of work until I go on leave, which means a busy month for me, delivering the 6 galleries and 1 video I have left from 2025 and then shoot - edit, shoot- edit with the remaining bookings I have over January. I can't wait to fully sink into a space of rest & preparation before our baby arrives earthside.
I've been reflecting on how blessed and grateful I am for everyone who supported me and my little business over the past year. Your patience and grace held me and helped me get through some of the hardest months of my life. It was chaotic and so difficult, crashing back on homesoil alone, navigating the first half of the year in hospitals beside my dad and the second half spent helping, supporting and caring for him.
Having my creative outlet amidst such a painful time has honestly just helped me through.. and for that, I can't thank you all enough
I dont know right now how long I will be on leave. I'll be updating those details when I am feeling ready (around midyear). But I do have my first small wedding booked in for June and a couple of others in the 2nd half of the year.
What I do know, though, is that my lil business is going to look and feel very different to how it has in '25. Think less "taking on anything if it helps pay the bills" (more ignoring price hunters or convincing people why they should choose me) and more creating with intention. More shoots that align with me & my style. More focused on the passion, which led me to be a photographer in the first place: love and connection & appreciation for the value of photography as art and a testimony of time.
2026 is the year for focusing on raising my baby, with some photography in the mix, which will mean limited availability for:
- Elopements and small weddings ❤️
- Intimate sessions (more in-home 🙏)
- Creative concepts & passion projects 📸
A new direction and maybe a fresh look? We'll see. But I am extremely excited for the year ahead to shape me into an even more present partner, sister, daughter, friend, creative, and most importantly; a mother. A year of growth 🌱
