Today was the day Geraldine and Brandon received their wedding gallery, giving them the chance to relive every moment of their incredible day all over again. One of my favourite images from the collection is this Milky Way portrait. We only snuck them outside for a few minutes, and after that the hard work was mostly on me! All they had to do was stand there, look amazing, and trust the process. Being on Brandon's family farm certainly helped too, with virtually zero light pollution giving us the perfect conditions to capture the night sky in all its glory. The rest came down to a little bit of planning, some technical wizardry, and an incredible country night sky putting on a show. Moments like this are always worth the extra effort. ✨🌌📸

I've had a few questions about how this photo was possible, and the answer is surprisingly simple: a $3 Amazon makeup mirror that's always tucked away in my pocket. Reflections are something I love incorporating into my photography because they add a different perspective and help create images that stand out. When I was inside St Monica's Church and the light started pouring through the beautiful stained glass windows, I couldn't help myself. The colours, light, and reflections all came together perfectly, and with a little help from that tiny mirror, I was able to capture the scene in a creative way that really highlights the beauty of the moment. ✨📸

At a certain time of year, the sun drops behind the mountains on Magnetic Island surprisingly quickly, making that golden-hour window feel even shorter. But one thing I've learned is that the golf course always delivers when it comes to beautiful backlit portraits. The open spaces, soft light, and stunning backdrop create the perfect conditions for those warm, glowing images that every photographer loves. I've had a few questions about how this shot was possible, and the answer is actually very simple, my phone screen. Reflections are something I always love to include in my photography because they add a unique perspective and a little extra creativity to an image. When the Cairns sky decides to put on a show with incredible colours and light, I'll always look for ways to capture and enhance that beauty, and reflections are one of my favourite ways to do it. The result is a photo that feels a little different and helps showcase just how amazing our Far North Queensland skies can be.
