This is one of the craziest things we’ve ever captured at a wedding.

We threw the veil up into the air at Belmore Basin near the lighthouse. As it came down, it formed a perfect love heart. Straight out of camera. No editing.

I turned the camera around and showed the bridal party the back of the screen right there on the spot. The reaction was priceless.

This was lit with our mobile studio lighting — something we specialise in and is exclusive to Cole Studios. The dramatic sky, the lighthouse, and that once-in-a-lifetime veil shape all came together in one frame.

If you were part of this bridal party or you’re the bride, feel free to jump in the comments and confirm — because even we still can’t quite believe it happened.

Not every wedding party wants the standard formal line-up.

This group decided to have a bit of fun and reveal their inner superheroes. Superman, Spider-Man and Batman all made an appearance under the formal suits, with the dramatic coastal sky doing the rest of the work.

It’s playful, full of personality, and completely true to who they are. These are the frames that make people stop scrolling.

This is a Mobile studio light image. Exclusive to call Studios.

If there was ever a better reason for a second photographer, I don’t know what it would be.

This is the groom’s reaction as the bride walked down the aisle. One photographer was focused on her. The second was locked on him.

You simply cannot capture both of these moments properly with only one camera. This is the raw emotion of the day — unfiltered and real.

Taken at Panorama House.

Ron and Amanda

It was raining outside. I looked out the window and immediately saw this frame in my head — the clear umbrella, the warm light spilling from the windows behind them, the soft rain, and the two of them standing in it.

I asked if they were happy to step out for a few minutes. They were keen. We grabbed the umbrella and made it happen.

Another photographer later said she couldn’t believe I was taking my gear out into the rain. I looked at her and said, “I can’t believe you’re not.”

Mum, dad, and their brand new baby.

This was photographed in our studio with a deliberately moody, low-key lighting style. Soft light falls across the baby while the parents lean in close — one gentle kiss on the forehead, one on the cheek. The dark background keeps the focus exactly where it belongs: on the connection between the three of them.

Getting a frame like this takes patience, careful lighting control, and the ability to work quietly and calmly with a newborn. The goal is always to keep the baby safe and settled while still creating something that feels intimate and timeless.

A beautiful before-and-after story in one frame.

This silhouette shows mum lying on her back with her pregnant belly, and in the reflection above she is holding her baby. Pregnancy and the first DAYS after birth, captured together in a simple, natural way.

Quiet, powerful, and full of meaning.

We’re always watching — not in a creepy way, but in a professional one.

Our bride was walking past this little setup and paused to look at the flowers. I saw the image immediately: the soft fairy lights, the old gramophone, the mirror reflecting the reception behind her, and that quiet moment of her just being present.

No flash. Just natural light and careful exposure. A lot of these frames come from simply paying attention and being ready when the moment appears.

And of course… how beautiful she looks in this light.

Looking for something different for your wedding?

This was taken at HARS in Albion Park. The hangar, the vintage aircraft, and the industrial scale of the space create a completely unique backdrop that you simply don’t get at a traditional venue.

The lighting in here is challenging but incredibly rewarding when handled properly.

The result feels cinematic, personal, and completely one-of-a-kind.

If you want portraits that stand out from the usual, this is a fantastic location.

Sometimes the best background takes a little direction.

This was taken on a boat in Sydney Harbour. I asked the captain to turn the boat so we could get both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge cleanly in the frame at sunset.

The light was carefully balanced — a touch of flash on the couple so they stayed properly exposed against the bright sky, while still holding the colour in the sunset and the city lights.

Then I cracked a joke. The result is a natural, genuine smile instead of a stiff posed expression.

Planning, light control, and a bit of humour. That’s how these frames come together.

A sky like this is one in a thousand.

This was taken at Bundanon, the eco resort near Nowra. The light was beautiful but challenging — strong backlight with a dramatic sky and a rainbow appearing on the right.

To keep the couple properly exposed while still holding all that colour in the sky, we used controlled flash and careful exposure. Having the right gear makes it possible, but knowing how to use it is what actually delivers the result.

These are the moments where experience and technique really show.
