While sitting the E3 Gallery 'Reading the Signs' Exhibition recently, I had time to reflect on my early school years and the connection to the Civic Theatre. Having grown up in Wagga Wagga recalling the Coral Festivals where School Groups would gather to sing on mass. A prerequisite was to 'try out' to see if you made the cut. Lucky for me I did which in turn gave me wonderful opportunities to perform in this iconic building. The colour aqua strongly features on the facade of the Civic Theatre and in the paintings hanging in the Gallery. I spoke of an informed memory when making colour choices, wondering now how old this memory could be ... or just coincidence?

A wax on rice paper piece created by a visitor to the Gallery from a workshop which was offered to everyone. Most people could not stop at one. Infectious, I know too well.

'Nature Interrupted' series from 'Reading the Signs' Exhibition held recently at the E3 Gallery, Wagga Wagga.

Encaustic wax on rice paper, reversible mat and wire stand.

Struggling with traditional ways of hanging, I devised a way for these works to be viewed full circle. Using found wire from my space. An added element of surprise no back or front, no right or wrong, is a white framed version. Requiring a lit backdrop the glorious natural light streaming into the Gallery space did the job nicely.
