Three years ago I took this photo, with it then being shared by ‘batlow apples’ and ‘aussie apples’ websites to a global audience! Time really flies so quickly! To think it’s blossom time in Batlow again 🥰

Looking down the row...Rosy Glow (aka Pink Lady) in full blossom!
Love this time of the year in Batlow (NSW) - apple blossom time! The orchards are looking beautiful this year. Worth a drive to the area.
This orchard is particularly close to my heart, my families! ❤️

Rose named “Fire Fighter”
Quite fitting for today...marking 12 months to the day the Dunn’s Road Bushfire finally went through my families farm on Old Tumbarumba Rd & then through the town of Batlow NSW (deemed undefendable).

Thanks still to all the people (both RFS, police, ambulance, emergency services, farmers, neighbours, friends & my family) who prepared properties, defended & fought the fires, the volunteers & friends who brought in supplies to them, and the quiet forgotten ones who looked after the welfare of those who had evacuated (& their animals) behind the scenes. Thank you. Your all heroes xx

“Bendy pines”
I’m totally mesmerised by these pines that didn’t “bounce” back up when the Dunn’s Road Bushfire went through Batlow 6 months ago. They are scattered throughout the forest, showing the direction the fire took.
If you look carefully, you will see a tree that’s warped in the middle, where it came back up but didn’t go straight again.

Did you know today (20th May) is World Bee Day? Its a day to draw attention to the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy.
Bees play a major role in growing our Batlow Apples! They are very precious to us!
Just think for a second, where would we be without them?

This was taken in Oct last year at Apple Blossom time in Batlow #2020
